A top-level car driver, he went through three different categories: karting, Formula 3 and Formula 3000.
It was at the wheel of
karts, however, that he sealed the feat that no one had ever managed to accomplish: winning the
Junior World Championship twice in a row (1984 and 1985). Behind him finished champions of the caliber of Michael Schumacher and Mika Hakkinen.
Once he gave up racing, he chose to put his experience and expertise at the service of aspiring drivers, embarking on a career as an
instructor.
